Bull excrement lines our arenas

Something of a cock-up yesterday. The Vide Grenier wasn't in the square but in the road along the other side of the Aude; the horse blessing at 10.00 didn't happen and was re-advertised (i.e. someone stuck up a hand painted sign) as happening at 12.00, by which time I was doing something else.

-So I missed the bull running and the bull swimming, all of which was apparently wonderful; also the horses trotting about. I've seen others' photos and it all looked sensational.

Freed up at 4.00 in time for the birthday tea of young Etienne :) Here he is greeting Gus - now bearded and inexplicably grown up - and below, determinedly eating cake.
Today hot and the market was as ever in the season, packed full to the gunwales with strangers. And many friends :) The parties are ongoing and those that couldn't sleep last night because of the noise are advised to join in. Kat and I had a very nice apero with Margaret tonight and she is suffering from sleep deprivation - tonight she will find her ear plugs, she says.
Rumours abound. Toby and Jim are close. The Scottish Daves' ditto.
